Dr. Steve Silberberg - Optometric Physician


Dr. Steve Silberberg has been in practice for over twenty years. He first attended SUNY at Stonybrook where he earned a B.S. degree in earth and planetary astrophysics. Dr. Silberberg was the departmental valedictorian as well as the recipient of the first Sherman Raftenberg memorial award. He went on to study astrophysics on full scholarship toward a PHD at M.I.T. Dr. Silberberg next attended SUNY College of Optometry where he graduated as class valedictorian. He has been honored with the Ester Werner Memorial Award for academic excellence, the Frederick Brock award for excellence in vision therapy and the Beta Sigma Kappa award for excellence in vision science. Dr. Silberberg has served as Chief of Low Vision at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He has spoken widely as well as appeared in print media and on television on varied eye topics. Most recently Dr. Silberberg was chosen the initial chairman of the Matawan-Aberdeen School Foundation. He presently has a patent pending on a new method for measuring intraocular pressure. This new process could greatly aid the treatment of Glaucoma. Dr. Silberberg lives in Manalapan New Jersey with his wife Nina and their two daughters Rachel and Rebecca.
